As 2018 comes to a close it is time to start the prep for 2019, call me crazy but I love prepping for the new year months in advance.
MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF
I can't stress this one enough, every girl boss makes time for herself and uses her time to better herself. For everyone this is different, some people may ten minutes to meditate while others enjoy an hour of reading. Whatever it is that you love, take time for yourself and do whatever you want because you deserve it.
WAKE UP READY
There is nothing worse than your alarm going off in the morning and feeling so unprepared that you don't know where to start. Before going to bed set everything out that you will need for the morning so you can get out the door on time.
EDUCATE YOURSELF
A woman with an education is unstoppable! Now when I say get an education I don't mean spend your lives savings to go to university, simply taking a course trough the community college can get you where you need to go. There is nothing quite as fulfilling as completing something challenging and kicking some serious ass at it.
HAVE A ROUTINE
You all know this about me already, but your girl loves her a good routine. Nothing makes me quite as happy as a solid routine to carry me through the hectic week. Of course you don't need to block out every send of every day, but having a general outline will help you to excel.
CHALLENGE YOURSELF
Who doesn't love a good challenge, nothing lights a fire under my butt like some healthy competition. Whether that competition be with myself or someone else, I love the sense of motivation it brings. So challenge yourself by trying something new, whether that be taking a course at the local college as mentioned before, or just getting out of your comfort zone. Regardless of what it is that you find challenging, push yourself to succeed and you will feel incredible.
SMILE
I'm sure we have all had our fair share of creepy old men telling us to smile, even if this hasn't happened to you Im sure you know what Im talking about. Now I'm not telling you to smile to please the creepy old dudes of society, no; I am telling you to smile for yourself. If you are having a bad day, smile; it is incredible how much of a mood booster this is.
SET GOALS
Nothing sends motivation or dreams down the drain quicker than not setting goals. While thinking about the things you want to do and succeed in is a great stepping stone, it won't get you where you need to go. In order to accomplish everything you have ever dreamed of you need to set goals. Figure out when you want to complete this goal, and how you will complete this goal. A goal without direction is just a dream and unfortunately that wont get you anywhere.
VISUALIZE SUCCESS
This one may sound a little strange but let me tell you it really really works. Now that you have set your goals you need to visualize yourself accomplishing them. The quickest way to stomp out your motivation is to be stuck in a cycle of "I can't do it", well with that attitude you wont. So visualize yourself once you have completed your goal, think about how you will and how keep that in mind when you start to give up.
MAKE LISTS
I have said this a million times before, but make lists, for the love of god just make a list! It is no secret that I use lists every single day for just about anything that can be made into a list. These lists don't have to be complicated or long, but if you can empty your brain onto paper you don't run the risk of forgetting something. So, pick up your pen and notepad or scrap piece of paper and make a list of all the crap you need to get done today.
BE ON TIME
Okay so not only am I total freak about being organized but I am an absolute freak about being on time. Let's say you are applying for a job and you and one another individual have to get through one more set of interviews before the company chooses who will be working for them. It is safe to say that if you don't show up on time, you will not be getting that job; not only is it rude, but it makes you look unorganized.
BUDGET
Last but not least, make a budget and stick to it. Making a budget is great, but if you can't stick to it, well you have just wasted a days worth of planning for said budget. There are so many methods to stick to a budget, my favourite however is the envelope method. At the beginning of each month take out the money you will need to get you through and put it in labeled envelopes. Each envelope will coincide with certain responsibilities, like groceries, bills and of course those little extras that you don't necessarily need but you do want. This is a great way to ensure that you don't go over your budget as you can only use the money that you have one hand.
Well I hope you all enjoyed todays post, I am starting to catch up on my writing deadlines so bear with me these net couples of days as I jump the final hurdle. I hope you are all having an incredible Monday and are looking forward to an amazing week. Let me know what girl boss habits you will be adding to your routine or already do!
